Bombers Battle But Fall Short To Apaches

VR LOGO - WEBEdon’s Volleyball Team had a strong showing at their August 23 match with Fairview, but they were unable to pull a victory away from the Apaches.  The Lady Bombers fought hard, but dropped the first set 20-25.  Not faltering at falling behind in the series, Edon didn’t relent.  Still, the Lady Apaches proved too much for them in game 2 as well, with the Bombers losing it 22-25.  With their backs against the wall, the Lady Bombers rallied, trying to mount a comeback as they took game 3 25-20.  The Apache lead was just too great, however, and the Bombers lost a close game 4 22-25 to close out the match.

Alex Kiess was vital to the Bombers’ scoring effort, offering 12 assists in addition to her 3 kills.  Nicole Newell nailed 6 kills herself, leading the Bombers in the category.  Kaitlin Chrisman made three aces to go along with her 2 kills.  Kaela Gearhart set up 7 assist and had a kill as well.
