FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Samad Taylor had three hits and two RBI, and Colton Laws pitched five scoreless innings as the Lansing Lugnuts topped the Fort Wayne TinCaps 4-2 on Monday.
Laws (3-2) picked up the win after he struck out two while allowing two hits.
After five scoreless innings, Lansing got on the board in the top of the sixth when Taylor hit an RBI single and Chavez Young scored on a sacrifice.
After Lansing added two runs in the eighth, the TinCaps cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when Luis Almanzar hit a sacrifice fly and Nick Feight hit an RBI single.
Mason Thompson (4-4) went five innings, allowing two runs and three hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out three and walked two.
