Three Injured In Turnpike Crash, Including A Nine-Month-Old Girl

A serious injury accident occurred on the eastbound exit ramp from the Ohio Turnpike to State Route 4 in Erie County on Tuesday requiring Life Flight and 2 ambulances for the injured.

According to 13ABC, and the Ohio Highway Patrol, William Plasman was attempting to exit the Turnpike’s eastbound ramp to SR4 when he claims to have swerved to miss a small animal in the roadway. The vehicle lost control and slid off the curve on the exit ramp. The vehicle struck a large ditch and overturned.

Both William and his wife Cheyanne, of Willard, Ohio were transported by North Central EMS to Fireland’s Hospital in Sandusky. Nine-month-old Claire Plasman suffered serious injuries and was flown from the scene by ProMedica Life Flight to a Toledo hospital.

None of the injuries appear to be life threatening. Mr. Plasman was not suspected to have been under the influence of any substance and was charged with failure to control.
