Arthur Follett (1935 – 2023)

Arthur W. Follett, 88, of Montpelier, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Evergreen Healthcare Center in Montpelier.

He was born on July 16, 1935 in Henry County, Ohio to Arthur G. and Mary F. (Parritt) Follett. Arthur graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1953. On May 29, 1971 he married Janet Stevens at 1st Lutheran Church in Stryker, Ohio.

Arthur was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Montpelier, the Montpelier Moose, the Montpelier Fire Department and involved with the Williams County Fair Foundation. He retired from Aro Corps in Bryan after 37 years of service in the carpenter shop.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Follett of Montpelier; five children, Jeff (Deb) Follett of Bryan, Kevin Follett of Montpelier, Craig (Laura) Follett of Hillsdale, Michigan and Jamie (Eric)  Dietsch of Montpelier; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.


Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Shelly Cooper, brother, Robert Follett and sister Merna Homier.

Visitation for Arthur will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 2-5 pm at Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023  at 11am at the funeral home with Reverend Ric Dye to officiate. Interment to follow at Shiffler Cemetery in rural Bryan.

Memorials may be made in Arthur’s memory to the Williams County Fair Foundation or the Montpelier Fire Department.
