Upon pulling up to the parking lot on Saturday morning, a plethora of supplies already sat outside the doors of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Many congregation and community members supported St. John’s by dropping off necessary materials to help the flood victims in Louisiana. The field needs 34 markers and they cost $500 each for $17,000. The state will pay up to 95 percent of the cost or a maximum of $16,150, consultant Steve Potoczaked stated in a letter to County Administrator Vond Hall. At $17,000, 95 percent is $16,150. The newly formed Williams County Land Reutilization Corp. held an organizational meeting last week to elect officers and get four properties in the pipeline to secure $100,000 in state aid. Marion L. Morr, age 96, of Delta, OH, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Swanton Valley Center where he was a resident. He was born in Delta on March 9, 1920 to the late Howard and Helen (Montgomery) Morr. He was a 1938 graduate of Delta High School. Charlene Marie (Santee) Conrad, age 81, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2016, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Due to the drastic decline in the population of the Monarch butterfly, the Ohio Pollinator Habitat Initiative (OPHI) is seeking public involvement to collect and drop off common and swamp milkweed seed pods from established plants, September 1st through October 30th, at collection stations around the state. The Williams County Dairy Association is currently soliciting donations for the “Williams County Dairy Project Bid Fund” This program pools donations from individuals and businesses to support 4-H and FFA dairy projects at the Williams County Junior Fair Sale to be held September 17th. He spoke at length with the board members about the regulations governing providers of service to individuals with disabilities being funded through home and community-based service (HCBS) waivers.
