The council approved the first reading of a resolution about contracting with Madison Township for fire services. An ordinance amending appropriations was passed as well. The mills are expected to generate $1.4 million for the purpose of construction of Agriculture Ed addition and athletic complex for track, baseball, and softball. The school is also seeking a 1.1-mill permanent improvement levy for the purpose of maintaining facilities. Both the bond and levy are tied together on a single issue. Galbraith, age 67, of Delta, lost his 11 year battle with cancer on Wednesday evening, July 27, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, where he received the best care and surrounded by his family and loved ones.  He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 23, 1949 to the late Morley Galbraith and Doris (Lewis) Galbraith.  Tom attended Delta Schools in the 1960’s.  On October 15, 1983 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Grime, who survives. A Montpelier teenager lost her life Tuesday evening due to injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident three miles north of Bryan near the intersection of County Road H, according to authorities.  Four others were injured in the crash. Chanelle B. Albertson (17 years old – Montpelier) was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Ohio State Troopers stated a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Warren J. (METAMORA, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Fulton County Sheriff Roy Miller, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Stephen Anthony announced on Saturday, July 23 that law enforcement discovered human remains that are believed to be Sierah Joughin. Residents took advantage of the first Williams County Paint Collection Event held on July 21st. The Williams County Health Department Recycling Program and Williams Soil & Water Conservation provided a special opportunity to recycle Latex Paint at a cost of $1.00 per gallon. Over 375 gallons of paint were collected during the one-day event. Workers were provided through the Williams County JOBS Program. E – Paint Recyclers of Battle Creek, Michigan provided the recycling service.
