Chief Deputy Roy E. Miller announced Tuesday, October 9, 2012, that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a High Visibility Enforcement Grant from the Office of Criminal Justice Services which is a division of the Ohio Department of Public Safety. The Sheriff’s Department was awarded $30,942.74 which will pay for deputy’s salaries during the enforcement periods. Deputies will be focusing on speeding, safety restraints and impaired driving to reduce the number of traffic related crashes and deaths. The 2012-13 Fayette Artist Series opens on Saturday, October 20th at 7:30 p.m. at Fayette’s historic Opera House with a performance by the dynamic men’s ensemble Ten-40 A Cappella. Ten40 A Cappella is a 12-man pop a cappella group representing Bowling Green State University. The Pioneer Village Council continued discussion on the solar power plant that is being offered to the village. Consultant John Courtney was present at the Monday, October 8 meeting to answer questions from the council members and village administrators. Mayor Ed Kidston wanted to make sure that every possible scenario was discussed before advancing with the project.
