BOYS GOLF: Montpelier Wins Bulldog Invitational; Host Swanton Takes Second

RUNNER-UP INDIVIDUALLY … Archbold’s Grady Short fired a 74 to tie for second overall in the Bulldog Invitational at Valleywood Golf Club.

SWANTON (August 6, 2025) – Owen Sommer shot a 75 while Kenneth Smeltzer and Kade Stewart each turned in rounds of 79 as the Locos edged host Swanton by six strokes for the championship of the Bulldog Invitational at Valleywood Golf Club.

Swanton’s Dylan Smigelski and Archbold’s Grady Short each fired a 74 as Archbold totaled a 333 to take fourth and Lane Lopez recorded a 76 to lead Delta to a fifth-place finish.

TEAM SCORES: 1. Montpelier 314 (Owen Sommer 75, Kenneth Smeltzer 79, Kade Stewart 79, CJ Fidler 81); 2. Swanton 320 (Dylan Smigelski 74, Grady Tipton 78, Carson Bond 84, Camden Kozakiewicz 84); 3. Anthony Wayne 321; 4. Archbold 333 (Grady Short 74, Griffen Valentine 79, C.J. Thompson 87, Gentry Valentine 93); 5. Delta 347 (Lane Lopez 76, Keegan Clapp 84, Ashton Alig 91, Luke Spiess 96); 6.
