Dale Rupp (1931 – 2024)

(Former Brady Township Trustee)

Dale E. Rupp, 92, of West Unity, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Dale was born December 31, 1931, the son of the late Emery and V. Frances (Baker) Rupp.

He was a 1949 graduate of West Unity High School. He married Wanda M. Wollet on April 4, 1953, and she preceded him in death.


Dale served our country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict with the 45th Division as a forward observer for the field artillery, until his honorable discharge on January 10, 1960.

A lifelong farmer, Dale worked on his farm until his retirement. He served as a Brady Township Trustee and on the West Unity Zoning Board.

Dale served as a past Commander and was a life member of the West Unity American Legion Post 669. When he was not farming, Dale enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and camping.


Surviving is his three children Bradford (Gerri) Rupp of Quincy, Michigan, Cindy (Richard) Scribner of West Unity and Brenda (Shawn) Rock of Marysville, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Aaron (Lindsay) Rupp, Brian Rupp, Megan Rupp, Nicole Scribner, Ian (Cassie) Scribner, Joshua (Samantha) Rasey, Noah (Autumn) Rasey, Zachary Rasey, Alex Rock and Molly Martin; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Sandy) Rupp of Pioneer, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Kathleen Flint and Phyllis Link.

Visitation for Dale E. Rupp was held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home in West Unity. Funeral services immediately followed in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Beals officiating. Interment followed in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity with military graveside rites accorded by West Unity American Legion Post 669.
