Officials broke ground on the future Edgerton Community Center, marking a new chapter for the Village of Edgerton. The project received $475,000 in funding, made possible by strong local and state support.

Funding included a $25,000 grant from the new Edgerton Development Foundation, which was matched by the Bryan Area Foundation, also providing an additional $25,000. A substantial $425,000 was awarded to the village through the Ohio Capital Budget.

Local leaders in attendance included members of the Edgerton Park Board, Edgerton Council, and the Edgerton Development Foundation. Representatives from Bielharz Architects and Mel Lanzer Co. were present for the occasion as well.

A proclamation from U.S. Senator John Husted was read, offering congratulations to the village on this community accomplishment.

Once completed, the Edgerton Community Center will serve as a modern, multi-use facility intended to meet the needs of residents of all ages.

The center will offer a space for recreational programs and public gatherings. With updated amenities and increased capacity, the center hopes to provide a family-friendly space for locals.

Villages officials believe it will become a vital hub for fostering community connection, health, and opportunity – now and for new generations of Edgerton to come.
