Edon Senior Center Thanks Village For Continued Support

THANKS … Friends of Edon Senior Center took time last week to express their appreciation to the Village for its continued support over the years. When Edon Northwest Local Schools relocated to its new facility, seniors throughout the District were found in urgent need of another meeting location. Working to fill the void, the organization approached Williams County Department of Aging, inquiring about the possibility of becoming a county senior center. After months of discussions, the Department received approval from Edon Village Council to create a site within the Edon Community Building. Thanks to the efforts of all those involved, Edon Senior Center has provided (for nearly ten years now) a place where there’s always something for everyone to enjoy ~ activities, games, cards, hot-balanced lunches, presentations, trips and, of course, the opportunity for social interaction and building friendships. Gathered around the table after their delicious luncheon on Tuesday, July, 23, 2013 are, seated from left, Ted Ricketts, Shirley Aldrich, Kay Faulhaber, Edon Village Mayor Darlene Burkhart, Ruth Swank and standing, Edon Site Manager Peggy McClaine, Edon Village Fiscal Officer Heidi Bidwell and Carolyn Van De Voorde; not pictured is Virginia Graves.
