Edward G. Snyder, age 73, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away at home in his sleep, Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
He was born May 20, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph J. and Mareta Mary (Simpson) Snyder.
Ed was a 1969 graduate of Evergreen High School and received an Associate of Applied Science in Business from Northwest Technical College. He spent several years at Hales Corners Seminary in Wisconsin for preparation into the priesthood.
Ed worked at Creque’s Greenhouse, drove truck for Seyfert’s Potato Chip Company, was a licensed meat cutter in Wauseon, and retired from BAX Global.
He was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption, and an instituted alcolyte and reader at church. An avid fisherman, Ed loved spending time at the family cottage on Ribeck Lake.
Ed is survived by his brother Dean Snyder; sister-in-law, Linda Snyder; nieces, Brandy (Billy) Waring and Amber Snyder; great-niece, Kelsey Rae; great-nephew, Bryce and many cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mareta Snyder and his brothers, Raymond Snyder and Carl Snyder.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 19th from 5 to 7 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 20th at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption.
