Erin Callahan-Burdine

November 13, 2015No Comments2 Mins Read

Erin Callahan-Burdine, age 47, of West Unity, Ohio, died at 1:16 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Erin had been a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Soldotna, Alaska, prior to moving to West Unity. She loved helping–it didn’t matter if it was helping people, animals, or plants, but she especially loved kids. She enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan.

Erin was born on October 4, 1968, in Fresno, California, the daughter of Jonathan G. and Christine L. (Doty) Callahan. She studied psychology and sociology at American River Community College in Sacramento, California, and the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. Erin married Randy L. Burdine on October 4, 2002, in Anchorage, Alaska, and he survives.

Erin is also survived by her daughters, Emily Philibert, of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Keely Burdine, of West Unity; mother, Christine (Joseph) Callahan-Wilmer, of Rio Linda, California; brother, Jonathan C. Callahan, of Magalia, California; sister, Heather (Don) Lance, of Citrus Heights, California; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Childers, of Woodland, California; uncle, Robert Doty, of Woodland, California; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jonathan Callahan; uncle, David Doty, and maternal grandfather, Leland Childers.

A funeral service to celebrate Erin’s life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 7:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M., prior to the service.

Memorial contributions in Erin’s name may be directed to the Williams County Humane Society.
