FAYETTE BOARD OF EDUCATION: School Staff To Receive ALICE Refresher Class

The Fayette Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, November 21st. The meeting began with roll call before hearing reports and updates from school administrators.

The superintendent offered thanks for a supportive community regarding the passage of the recent levy.

It was also stated that Officer McConnell will conduct an ALICE refresher training for all of the staff at the next professional development day.

The pergola is almost finished and will be ready for the students to enjoy when weather permits.

Reports were then heard from the treasurer and school principals before moving to approve the financial report. Included in the financial report were three donations which are as follows.

A donation of $10 from FFA members for fair premiums, a donation of $144 from the FFA t-shirt sale from Ortinau Art to be used for FFA activities, and a donation of $3,000 from the Parent Support Group for the Class of 2023 senior activities.

The board then moved on to discuss and approve a staffing report with the following items being included in the report.

The monthly substitute list for teachers and paras from the NwoESC for FY23. The unpaid leave of absence for Sarah Gates for April 20-21, 2023, and Amanda Oehlers for January 26-27, 2023.

A supplemental contract for Travis Pennington as the Asst. Girls Varsity Co-Coach for FY23.

A supplemental contract for Jared Wagner as Asst. Girls Varsity Co-Coach for FY23. Larry Robarge as a volunteer softball coach for FY 2022-2023 school year pending proper reference and background checks.

Supplemental contracts and volunteer agreements were also accepted for coaching staff.

Lastly, the board approved January 2nd, 2023, and March 10th, 2023, as professional development days for employees, for required education certifications.
