(October 16th, 2014)-CARDINAL STRITCH: A late rally wasn’t enough to get Fayette back into the match.

Getting off to a slow start is tough to come back from. Doing so on the road in the post-season, is nearly impossible to achieve. So when Fayette fell behind early at Cardinal Stritch, they were fighting an uphill battle, to say the least. They tried to get back into the match, however, and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed.

After dropping the first set 13-25, the Lady Eagles lost game 2 as well, 10-25. Stepping up in game 3, however, Fayette dominated the set 25-13. They couldn’t build on that momentum, though. Cardinal Stritch took control of game 4 early, and never looked back. Fayette lost the set 8-25, allowing Stritch to move on to the Sectionals Finals.

Michaela Bates led the Fayette with 6 kills, 3 digs, and a block. With 11 digs, 10 assists, and an ace, Hannah Machacek had a strong game as well. Fellow Lady Eagle McKenzee Schaffner once again hustled all night, earning 20 digs in the match.
