Fred M. Parmer

Fred M. Parmer, Sr., 79, of Edon, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola, Indiana. He was born on March 16, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Mabel (Watts) Parmer. Fred was a jack of all trades who loved woodworking and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his partner of over 40 years, Violet Chance of Edon; son, Fred M. (Vicki) Parmer, Jr., of Pioneer; daughter, Patti Ann Marleau of Detroit, Michigan; grandchildren, Fred M. (Andrea) Parmer, III, Tori (Jerry Zyjewski) Parmer, Alisha (Jon) Schang, Sonja (Tyler Smith) Parmer, Chuck Marleau, Mark (Holly) Marleau and Steve Marleau; great grandchildren, Fred M. Parmer, IV., Kadden and Kila Reeser, Gavin Zyjewski, Jonie Schang, Gauge, Axel and Ryker Smith, Abigail, Adam and Ethan Marleau; stepdaughters, Jackie Lynn (Chris) Wells of New Port Richey, Florida and Connie Marie Dean of Montpelier; step granddaughter, Stacy; and siblings, Chuck (Sharon) Parmer, Bob (Betty) Parmer, Wanda Cole, Mabel Parmer and Barbara Davis all of Michigan;

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Parmer; three brothers, Richard, Bill and Raymond; and three sisters, Betty, Dorene and Fran.

Per Fred’s wishes a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A Potluck dinner for family and friends will be held at Fred’s home, 203 College Street, on Thursday, August 18th from 3-6pm.  Donations can be made in his memory to his loving family. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Online condolences may be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
