mothersday1 WEBArchbold, OH – On Sunday, May 8 Sauder Village families are invited to celebrate Mother’s Day at Sauder Village with free admission for all moms visiting the Historic Village. Mothers, grandmothers and even great-grandmothers are invited to spend a day experiencing life in the past while making special memories with their family at Sauder Village.

“Mother’s Day is a wonderful day to plan a multi-generational visit to Sauder Village,” shared Kim Krieger, PR/Media Relations Specialist. “With free admission for all mothers (and grandmothers) and also free admission for kids 16 and under, Sauder Village is a special place to celebrate Mother’s Day with the whole family!”

To start the celebration, the Barn Restaurant will offer their always-popular Sunday Buffet. Families can enjoy a delicious buffet featuring roast beef, chicken, ham, dressing and more. The adult buffet price is $19.75 (beverage, tax and tip included) and child pricing is also available. To make reservations for groups of 6 or more call 800.590.9755.

From noon until 4:00 p.m. families are encouraged to enjoy a fun-filled day with mom at Historic Sauder Village. Families can watch the spinner, potter or cooper at work in their shops, visit the new baby animals in the barnyard area, take a relaxing buggy ride or enjoy a trip around the Village on the Erie Express. Take a walk through time from the early 1800s through the 1920s while travelling from Natives and Newcomers, through the Pioneer Settlement Area and finally the newly-renovated Grime Homestead. Say thank you to your mom with some tasty treats from the Ice-Cream Parlor, Stella Leona Chocolates and Coffees, or a special gift from the General Store, Gift Shop, Herb Shop or Threads of Tradition Quilt Shop.

Historic Sauder Village is open this spring Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon-4:00 p.m. The Village is closed on Mondays, except holidays.
