

Gaylan J. Thiel was born on March 3, 1943, in Huntington, Indiana, the daughter of Bernard and Madonna (Lucas) May. She married Ronald R. Thiel on February 11, 1960, in Blakeslee, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2016.
Survivors include four daughters, Yvonda (Curtis) Stantz, of Wauseon, Ohio, Cheryl Fenstermaker, of Edon, Michele (Joseph) Headley, of Edon, and Rachael (Jeremy) Welch, of Edgerton, Ohio; one son, Chris (Janis) Thiel, of Edgerton; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Byall, of Roanoke, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Patrick Thiel; a granddaughter, Allyson Word; and a great-granddaughter, Kyla Bree Stantz; two sisters, Betty Jones and Delores Ward; and an infant brother, Reece May.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday in the funeral home. Services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Daniel Borgelt and Reverend Fred Duschl officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakesee.
