BOYS BASKETBALL

Archbold 43 Bryan 40

BRYAN – Archbold knocked down six triples as a team led by four from Cade Brenner on his way to 20 points as Archbold (6-4, 1-0 NWOAL) escaped Bryan with a 43-40 victory.

Sonny Phillips added 10 for Archbold, who was 16/34 (47%) from the floor on the night. Sam Herold topped the Golden Bears (3-7, 0-1) with 14.

DELTA – Evergreen (6-3, 1-0 NWOAL) jumped out to a 26-14 lead at halftime and survived a big second half by Delta to open NWOAL play with a win at Delta.


Evergreen’s Eli Keifer paced all scorers with 18 points while Bryce Gillen and Nolan Risner led the Panthers (6-2, 0-1) with 10 each.

Wauseon 50 Liberty Center 46

LIBERTY CENTER – Wauseon built an 11-point lead after three quarters and held off a Liberty Center (3-4, 0-1 NWOAL) rally in the final stanza for a 50-46 win.

The Indians (7-4, 1-0) were able to hold on despite just one field goal in the fourth quarter by going 8/14 at the charity stripe.

Landon Hines had five buckets and four free throws for 14 points and Tyson Rodriguez added 10 for the Indians.

HAMLER – The undefeated Bulldogs (9-1, 0-1 NWOAL) used a 24-18 fourth quarter to force extra basketball where the Patriots (9-1, 1-0) pulled out a 60-58 win in the NWOAL lidlifter for both schools.

Swanton was paced by a game-high 19 points from Hayden Callicotte, Cole Mitchey had 17, and Luc Borojevich tallied 15.

FAYETTE – Sage Woolace rung up 18 points for Stryker (9-2, 2-0 BBC) who dominated on both ends of the floor to cruise past Fayette 51-14.

Kelsie Storrs had six points to lead the Eagles (1-11, 0-2) effort.

PETTISVILLE – Holgate’s (6-6, 2-0 BBC) defense took over in the final frame by holding Pettisville (6-6, 0-2) to only one field goal as they outscored the Blackbirds 15-2 to grab a 39-28 win.

Olivia Miller, who had Pettisville’s lone points of the final stanza, led Pettisville with 10.

Jada Uribes had 15 points to lead the Locos and Kelsie Bumb drilled three triples on her way to 12.

Natalie Wofford and Jaycea Craven topped Edon (3-10, 0-2) in the scoring column with nine points each.

Libbie Baker had seven field goals and was 8/11 at the line for 22 points and Mia Hancock added 10 for Hilltop.

Isabelle Burnett had 17 for the Eagles (1-10, 0-2), 11 coming in the first half.
