Williams County recently celebrated the retirement of Jeff Dick, who was previously the Williams County 4-H educator.
Born to Dallas and Amie (Altaffer) Dick, of Montpelier, in 1968, Jeff graduated from Montpelier High School in 1986.
After graduation, he obtained two associate degrees (agricultural education and animal science) from Northwest State before transferring to Ohio State University, where he obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in agricultural education.
After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Jeff began working as the 4-H educator in Sandusky, Ohio before transferring to Williams County, where he worked while he obtained his master’s degree. Jeff stayed with Williams County as the 4-H educator from 1995-2012.
Jeff has five children: Weston, Logan, Addison (who is a junior at Montpelier High School), Ashton, and Caroline (who is a freshman at Montpelier High School).
From 2012-2022, Jeff worked for Ohio State University as their 4-H State Specialist. In 2022 Jeff came back to Williams County, circling back to his role as 4-H educator.
Jeff has recently announced his engagement to Lisa Fedderke, occurring February 25, 2023 -just three days before his retirement celebration!
As for what the future holds, Jeff plans to make maple syrup, go hunting, chase after his kids, and plan his future wedding.
