Mahtook’s Homer Leads Toledo To 3-2 Win Over Louisville

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Mikie Mahtook hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to give the Toledo Mud Hens a 3-2 win over the Louisville Bats on Thursday.

Victor Alcantara got Josh VanMeter to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.

Mike Gerber hit a solo home run in the second inning to give the Mud Hens a 1-0 lead. The Bats came back to take a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning when Joe Hudson hit an RBI double, driving in Gabriel Guerrero.

Toledo tied the game 2-2 in the fifth when Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a solo home run.

Toledo right-hander Kyle Dowdy (4-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on just five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Homer Bailey (0-2) took the loss in the International League game after allowing three runs and six hits over seven innings.
