Montpelier Board Of Education Addresses 2016-17 School Year

The Montpelier Local Board of Education convened in regular session on the evening of May 10.

The Board non-renewed all Certificated and Classified supplemental contracts effective at the end of the 2015-2016 school year, and approved the following Certificated staff supplemental contracts for the 2016-2017 school year:

Steven Brancheau – Head Coach Football
Troy Roth – Assistant Football
David Bauer – Assistant Football
Blayne Bible – Assistant Football
Anthony Coleman – Assistant Football
Khrysta Coleman – Head Coach Volleyball
Brooke Ruffer – Assistant Volleyball
Brooke Gearig – JH Volleyball
David Apple – JH Cross Country
Brandon Shoup – JH Golf
Katie McCarty – Varsity Cheerleading
Leslieann Wheeler – JH Cheerleading

The Board employed Connie Shoup as school nurse for 184 days at $32,569.84 for the 2016-2017 school year, and approved Lisa Tippin to be paid for one additional day at her daily rate for the 2015-2016 school year.


The Board approved the following Classified staff supplemental contracts for the 2016-2017 school year:

Mark Earle – Volunteer Football
Michael Martinelli – Volunteer Football
Travis Smith – Assistant Football
Todd Friend – JH Football
Max Lamberson – JH Football
Morgan Roth – JV Volleyball
Kandy Houk – Freshman Volleyball
Brooke Watts – JH Volleyball
Jacob Brubaker – Volunteer Volleyball
Hollie Carroll – Head Cross Country
Andrew Saneholtz – Head Golf

The Board agreed to the continued agreement with the Ohio High School Athletic Association for the 2016-2017 school year, and approved the Voluntary Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Program through Love Insurance for the 2016-2017 school year. The Board approved the service agreement with Healthcare Process Consulting, Inc. to manage the district’s School Medicaid Program; the service agreement with Central Ohio Medical Review, LLC for medical review services and therapy referrals for the 2016-2017 school year, and the lease agreement with Current Office Solutions for copiers.


The Board set the school lunch prices for the 2016-2017 school year at Grades K-8 – $2.50, Grades 9-12 – $2.75, and Adult – $3.00, with extra milk at 50 cents.

The Board agreed to the participation in the following federal programs: Title I, Title II-A, Title VI-B, Title Part B IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act), Title III LEP (Limited English Proficiency) and the Federal Meal and Milk Program for the 2016-2017 school year, and agreed to the list of graduates for the MHS Class of 2016, pending all graduation requirements have been met..

The Board approved the MHS girls’ volleyball team to attend a Findlay tournament from July 7, through July 9, and the Montpelier girls’ basketball team camps at the University of Findlay on June 15 and 16, and at Adrian College from July 13 through July 15.

The Board decided to advertise for bids for the purchase and/or lease of a new bus including a possible trade in or sale of 1 or 2 busses.
