BRYAN: May 22 – The North Central Lady Eagles climbed a major mountain to get to the D-IV Districts. That mountain proved to be just one in an entire range.

The Lady Eagles knocked off the heavily favored BBC Champion Hilltop Lady Cadets for the D-IV Sectional Championship, 7-3, on May 16. On May 22, they opened up District play against the #2-seeded Wayne Trace Lady Raiders. There would be no magic in the bats for the Lady Eagles this time around, as they were stifled by Wayne Trace pitching, 6-0.

Makayla Hayes deserved better than what she wound up receiving. She surrendered all six runs, but five errors made five of those runs unearned. She was tagged for eight hits, and struck out three.

Tristin Tomblin and Sabrina Pickford each had a pair of base hits for North Central, with Macayla Wildrick and Shayleigh Barnett each singling for the Lady Eagles who bow out of the 2014 campaign with an 8-16 / 2-8 record.

Runs / Hits / Errors

Wayne Trace 6 – 8 – 0

North Central 0 – 6 – 5
