BOYS BASKETBALL

Pettisville 61 Hilltop 32

Pettisville controlled the game from start to finish as they opened their season with a convincing win at Hilltop. The Blackbirds shot 49% from the field, outrebounded the Cadets 29-10 and forced 20 Hilltop turnovers. Pettisville’s Cayden Jacoby recorded a double-double with 33 points, 13 rebounds and Joey Ripke added 10 points. Tucker Beres paced the Cadets with 13 points, 11 coming in the second half.

Swanton 54 Lake 46

After surrendering a 15-point halftime lead in the third quarter, the Bulldogs responded with a 19-10 fourth quarter to pull out the win over Lake. Swanton led 31-16 at halftime before Lake outscored Swanton 20-4 in the third quarter to take a 36-35 lead going to the final stanza. Andrew Thornton dropped in 24 points for the Bulldogs and Sam Betz chipped in with 13 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Delta 53 Tinora 30

The Lady Panthers put three players in double figures to lead them past Tinora 53-30 in a non-league contest. Braelyn Wymer topped the scoring column for Delta (4-0) with 18 points, Reagan Rouleau tallied 16, and Brooklyn Green had 10.
