Nyla D. Stinehart

Nyla D. Stinehart, age 81, of Swanton, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 3, 2016 at the Orchards of Northcrest in Napoleon.  She was born in Toledo on November 22, 1934 to the late Glen Andrews and Donna (Davis) Andrews.  Nyla was a 1952 graduate of Woodward High School.  On June 20, 1953 she married Henry O. Stinehart Jr. after his return from service in WWII and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2014.

Nyla worked for International Institute in Toledo for many years.  With the use of her own spinning wheel; Nyla enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and crafting.  While in Toledo she was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Heatherdowns Garden Club.  With her heart for giving and along with others; Nyla was instrumental in helping begin the Hands of Grace.

Along with her parents and husband, Henry of 61 years, she was preceded in death by her great grandchildren, Bryce Schultheis, Emma and Caroline Hintz; brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish Nyla’s memory are her children, Marsha (Raymond) McKenzie of Swanton, Carole (Reginald) Moll of Swanton, Jeanne Miller of Napoleon and Glen (Sue) Stinehart of Swanton; brother, John Delles of Florida; grandchildren, Shane, Matthew and Leigh McKenzie, Adam Moll, Erica Hintz, Andrew Moll, Lindsay Schultheis, Dustin O’Mary, Jessica Wolford and Rachel Naves and great grandchildren.


Friends will be received from 10:00 AM -12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta; where a funeral service celebrating Nyla’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday.  Pastor Chuck Whitmire will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Grand Rapids, OH.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Hands of Grace, 104 Monroe St., Suite 2, Delta, Ohio 43515 in her memory. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website atwww.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
