Patricia VanAuken (1931-2020)

Patricia A. VanAuken, age 88, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at her home. She had worked at Strydel in Stryker for 31 ½ years before her retirement. Patricia loved to travel, go to garage sales, work puzzle books and collect teddy bears and cardinals. But time with her family is what she loved the most.

Patricia was born December 5, 1931 in Edon, the daughter of Floyd and Elsie (Dally) Mocherman. She graduated from Montpelier High School Patricia married Ray E VanAuken on February 13, 1949 in Fort Wayne and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2006.

Patricia is survived by her children, Bonnie (Jerry) Paine-Middleton, Debra Trausch, Diana (Carl) Kies, Daniel (Lynda) VanAuken, all of Bryan and Thomas (Shelly) VanAuken, of Farmer; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and brothers, Jerry (Nancy) Mocherman of Bryan and Larry (Louise) Mocherman, of Morenci, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 great grandchildren.

Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, the family will receive friends while observing social distancing precautions. The family requests visitors use masks to prevent spreading the virus. Anyone showing any symptoms of illness are asked to please share their condolences by a phone call, email, text message, or leaving a condolence at the funeral home website.


Visitation will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. on Monday with Ted Mathes officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations to Williams County Humane Society. Condolences can be left for the family by visiting the online guest book at www.krillfuneralservice.com
