Podorsky Leads Fort Wayne To 5-2 Win Over Great Lakes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Robbie Podorsky had five hits and two RBI as the Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Great Lakes Loons 5-2 on Friday.

Fort Wayne tied the game 1-1 in the first after Luis Campusano hit an RBI single, scoring Podorsky.

After Fort Wayne added two runs, the Loons cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Brandon Montgomery hit a solo home run.

The TinCaps later tacked on two runs in the eighth when Podorsky hit an RBI single and then scored on a triple by Esteury Ruiz to secure the victory.

Korey Anderson (2-0) got the win in relief while Great Lakes starter Edwin Uceta (1-4) took the loss in the Midwest League game. Evan Miller pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for his second save of the season.

The Loons failed to capitalize on some good scoring chances, leaving 12 runners on base in the loss. Montgomery homered and singled for the Loons.
