(1978 Graduate Of North Central High School)

Ronald A. Huffman, 63, of Pioneer passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at his home.  He was born on February 4, 1960 in Bryan to Robert A. and Janet M. (Carter) Huffman. Ron graduated from North Central High School in 1978.

Ron farmed alongside his mom and dad until his dad passed away in 2018. He then continued farming until his own passing.

For many years, they also ran a dairy farm. Ron was very hardworking man but made sure to still enjoy life.

He loved going to dances with his girlfriend Lynn, fishing, watching NASCAR, restoring antique tractors which were originally owned by his grandpa Huffman, and going out to dinner with his daughter Jamie at Red Lobster.

Family was important to Ron as well as his love John Deere Tractors and candy bars. Ron would only buy Chevrolets and especially was a fan of Silverados and Camaros.

He is survived by his daughter Jamie (Patrick) Hassenauer of Wapakoneta, Ohio; grandson Logan Hiles; mother Janet M. Huffman of Pioneer; sister Cheryl Beck of Coldwater, Michigan; niece Mallory (Dahlen Barnhart) Beck of Hillsdale; and girlfriend Lynn Durham of Napoleon.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Huffman; paternal grandparents, Fred and Velma Huffman; and maternal grandparents, Bud and Marcille Carter.

Visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 2-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11 am at the funeral home with Dr. Dan VanArsdalen to officiate. Interment to follow at Shiffler Cemetery in Bryan.

Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Ron to the National Threshers Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and demonstrating antique farm equipment.

Condolences may be left online for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
