Sheriff Steven Towns provided a quarterly update to the Williams County Board of Commissioners June 2.

The sheriff said his DARE officer has requested the purchase of a trailer to haul equipment and that it be purchased using donated funds. The trailer would primarily transport equipment for activities and games donated by the Bryan Area Foundation, but it could be used for other needs as well.

In other actions, the board:
Approved a proposal from Maintenance Supervisor Josh King to replace the north and south air handlers and condensing unit at the law library on Level M at the courthouse. The work was approved at a cost not to exceed $12,793.

Approved the replacement of 11 ceiling joists on Level A3 at the courthouse for $2,795.

Approved the replacement of floor deck Level B at the courthouse for $4,210.
The combined projects boost the cost of the courthouse project to $1,492,385.

Approved the cost of build-outs for two new police vehicles not to exceed $7,277.79.

Approved the purchase of nine in-car camera systems for $14,472. Each unit has Quad HD and Wi-fi capable DVR.
