ARCHBOLD – Sonja M. Morrison, age 84, of Archbold and formerly Fayette, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, under the care of Elara Caring Hospice.
She was born in Morenci on November 4, 1939, to the late Darrell and Martha (Riviere) Randall. On April 27, 1986, she married Robert J. Morrison, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2015.
Sonja enjoyed keeping a tidy home and tending to her flower beds that adorned her yard. She supported and raised her 4 children on her own, working at the former Fayette Tubular for over 42 years.
Some of Sonja’s happiest times were the years with her husband, Bob, and hosting her family in her front yard to view the Fayette Bull Thistle Parade.
Surviving are her children, Sherry (Tim) Wagler of Archbold; Richard (Ronda) Vereecke of Wauseon, and Tracy (David) Knisely Fayette; siblings, Alice (Dave) Lonis of Morenci and Jerry Randall of Fayette; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Stacy Vereecke, and brother, Paul Randall.
Visitation for Sonja will be held at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial service begins at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Kim Repp will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery, Fayette.
