Stanley L. “Pat” Frey, age 91 years, of Archbold, passed away Sunday evening, November 17, 2019, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon. He was born February 27, 1928, near Archbold, the son of Daniel and Ida (Gigax) Frey.
He married Marthella Short on December 25, 1947 and she preceded him in death on May 25, 2015. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he was an Archbold High School graduate, and owned and operated the former Frey Well Drilling for 30+ years before retiring in 1989.
He was a recreational pilot and enjoyed gardening, golfing and time with his family and grandchildren. He was an active member of the Archbold Evangelical Church.
He is survived by three children, Nancy (James) Kean of Noblesville, IN, Deborah (James) Roach of Defiance and David (Cheryl) Frey of Auburn, IN; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, James Frey and Daryl Frey; five sisters, Sue Churchman, Vivian Rich, Georgia Shaffer, Virginia Frey and Anna Wynn.
Services will be held on Friday, November 22nd, 2019 at 11 AM at the Archbold Evangelical Church with Pastor Jesse Kahler officiating. Private interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 – 11 AM on Friday.
The family suggests that memorials be given to Mennonite Central Committee or the Archbold Evangelical Church. Short Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
