Suzanne L. Michael, age 85, of Edon, Ohio, died at 8:45 A.M. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Center in Montpelier, Ohio, where she was a patient, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Michael was a 1945 graduate of Edon High School, graduated from International Business College in 1947, and was employed by the Edon State Bank for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon, where she was active as a Sunday school teacher, was church organist for many years, and was a member of the Friendship Circle and the Women of the Church. She was also active as a volunteer and board member of the Williams County Community Concerts for forty years and was a charter member and past president of the Edon American Legion Post #662 Auxiliary.
Suzanne L. Michael was born on January 9, 1927, in Edon, Ohio, the daughter of John D. and Leonora (Burkhardt) Foster. She married Franklin C. Michael on May 16, 1948, in Edon and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1993.
Survivors include one son, Douglas (Cheryl) Michael, one daughter, Martha Michael, two grandsons, John and Jacob Michael, all of Edon, one sister, Honey Moore, of Montpelier, and one brother, Tom (Trisha) Foster, of Prescott, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John D. Foster, Jr.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Roger Marlow officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 28, 2012, in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon.
Preferred memorials are to be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
