At the regular meeting of the Board of Education on April 20, 2016, the board held public discussions around the idea of hosting open houses for the community. Instead of holding individual tours at upon any community member’s request, the idea of hosting an open house or series of open houses was discussed. As a result, the board will host a tour of sorts of the Cherry Street building (Swanton Middle School) prior to the board’s meeting on May 18, 2016 from 5:00-6:45 PM. The open house will be attended by SMS Principal, Mr. Matt Smith, as well as other key district personnel who will answer questions about the condition of the building and its operational systems, as well as any other questions that may come up. Additionally, we are researching the viability of creating virtual tours through our Information Technology course and students.

The administration is working on dates for open house/tours of the Crestwood and Park school buildings as well.
