A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Saturday, November 8th, with the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce to celebrate The Brush Haus Salon, located at 212 Depot Street in Wauseon.
Owner Ashlee Scalf explained that the salon provides nail and hair services, with plans to soon include skin care.
Their nail services feature a builder gel called Luminary, which is applied to the natural nail and is a healthier option. Some of the salon’s staff also offer hand-drawn nail art, which Scalf described as very detailed and impressive.
According to Scalf, the salon’s hair stylists offer a variety of haircuts, styling, and coloring. The business also plans to expand its offerings to include facials and other skin care options in the future.
Scalf said she started the salon in October and that it has been growing ever since. “Honestly, I feel like it felt like a blur and I feel more and more thankful every day that I’m here.
“It continues to grow. I am so excited. I love working with all of the girls every day. We have a close bond, and everyone works well together,” she said.
Scalf shared that she was a stay-at-home mom for almost ten years and worked contingent in health care.
She has two daughters, and once both were in school, she attended school herself for nails and later worked at a salon in town for a few years. When a space opened, she decided to open The Brush Haus Salon.
Born and raised in Wauseon, Scalf said she has always loved the community and appreciates the tremendous support she has received.
She also expressed pride in the team that has joined her at the salon, saying, “We have really talented girls, especially hair and nail art. They are all just amazing.”
