Williams County Special Olympic Athlete To Represent Ohio In Australia

(PRESS RELEASE) – Alex Miller, Williams County Special Olympics multi-sport athlete, has been chosen to represent Ohio at Dream Ride Australia. He will be chaperoned by Angela Luke, Williams County Local Coordinator.

They depart from Detroit and fly to LAX on March 4th. At LAX they meet up with the other eight athletes and their chaperones to travel to Sydney, Australia where they will site see and have a few days to enjoy the city.

From Sydney, the group will fly to Adelaide to spend their remaining trip and attend Dream Ride with athletes from all over the world. They will return to Detroit on March 13th.


All these athletes have attended Dream Ride USA in Connecticut. Alex Miller, Dan Bell, Beth Votaw and Angela Luke attended Dream Ride USA in Connecticut in August 2023.

Dream Ride Australia was started in 2018 after Michael Bozzuto created Dream Ride in the USA in 2001. This event is a benefit ride to raise awareness and funds for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Dream Ride Experience is a day showcasing cars and family fun. It all benefits and honors men, women and children living with intellectual disabilities in our communities.

It highlights their determination and perseverance to overcome challenges and shatter stereotypes. Hundreds of motor enthusiasts gather at Wigley Reserve to provide an exhilarating ride in one of the exotic, sports, prestigious or luxury cars for the individuals in attendance.
