Harold H. Carlson, 68, of Alvordton was arrested Tuesday, October 16 after a Williams County Grand Jury returned a 18 count indictment against him.  Those counts include 11 counts of first degree felony rape, 4 counts of first degree felony complicity to rape, 2 counts of first degree felony kidnapping, and 1 count of third degree felony sexual battery.

Carlson is accused of engaging in compelling a girl to submit to sexual intercourse through force or threat of the force on several occasions between April 1, 2010 and August 8, 2018.  During this time span, the alleged victim was between the ages of 13 and 21.  Carlson is additionally accused of forcing two minors to engage in sexual activity with one another as well as holding one of the victims against his or her will.

Several specifications appear in the indictment related to the Grand Jurors finding Carlson to be a sexually violent predator.

Bond on Carlson was set at one million dollars and Clayton Crates, Esquire was appointed as defense council after the court found Carlson indigent.  Carlson appeared in court with Crates on Friday, October 19 and entered a plea of not guilty on all counts of the indictment.
