Montpelier Rallies From A Set Down To Trump Wauseon In A Five Set War

MONTPELIER – The Montpelier Locomotives put together a great effort and downed the Wauseon Indians in five sets on October 1 by scores of 19-25, 25-15, 18-25, 25-23 and 15-12.

Hannah Blake was 34/42 attacking, 13/14 serve receiving and 11/13 serving with an ace, 8 kills, 4 blocks, 21 assists and 25 digs for the Lady Locos. Christy Duchene went 37/42 attacking, 13/14 serve receiving and 11/13 serving with an ace, 6 kills and 12 digs. Jessy Duchene was 19/21 serving and 10/11 attacking with 5 kills, 24 assists, 13 digs and an ace, and Baylee Hageman was 5/5 serve receiving and 37/45 attacking with 12 kills, a block and 5 digs.

Sidney Houk was 33/34 serve receiving, 18/18 serving and 34/42 attacking with 10 kills and 29 digs; Marinna Mercer went 23/23 serving and 21/23 attacking with 11 kills, 7 digs and 3 aces; Audrey Pirtle was 9/11 attacking with 2 kills; Maddie Richmond went 10/11 serve receiving with 8 digs, and Taylor Wells was 14/15 serve receiving and 13/13 serving with 35 digs.

For the Indians, whose record moved to 9-9 and 3-3 in the NWOAL, Sydney Bosell continued her strong play at the net with 13 kills with two blocks and 29/34 hitting. Kierra Fountain and Sariah Yackee contributed with 12 kills apiece and they each served up one service ace.
