Montpelier ACME Boys Drop A Pair To Fairview

MONTPELIER: June 9 – The Montpelier ACME squad was zapped twice by Fairview on June 9. The Apaches threw a one-hit shutout in the opener, 9-0, then added insult to injury by taking the second game, 7-2.

 

Game #1

 

Jared Shoup was tagged for 7 runs in 5 1/3 innings of work. Keaton Byers finished, allowing a pair of runs. Andrew Luke busted up the no-hitter with a base hit.

Montpelier 0 – 1 – 3

 

Game #2

 

Gunner Matson allowed 5 runs in 4 innings of work for the Locos. Byers finished, allowing 2 runs.


Montpelier did their damage in the fifth. Cody Caudill go on with a double, and was driven in by a Shoup sacrifice fly. Jared Sargent, who singled earlier in the contest, drew a free pass and scored on a passed ball. Colin Rockey had a double, Matson had a double and a single, and Dalton Surbey added a base hit.
