VARSITY

Wauseon 46 Delta 31

Wauseon (16-3, 6-0 in NWOAL) led 24-14 at halftime and outscored the Panthers 22-17 in the second half to secure a 46-31 road win. Jonas Tester led the Indians attack with 15 and Koleton DeGroff added 10. James Ruple tallied nine points to lead Delta (1-18, 0-6).

Archbold 60 Swanton 51

Swanton held a 13-12 lead after the first quarter before Archbold used a 32-16 advantage in the second and third quarters to pick up a 60-51 win. Archbold had a decided advantage at the free throw line where they outscored Swanton 17-5, but the Bulldogs hit eight triples to offset the difference.


DJ Newman led the Bluestreaks effort with 20 points and Alex Roth added 10. Josh Vance had a game-high 23 points for Swanton (11-9, 3-3), Hayden Callicotte tallied 11, and Cole Mitchey added 10.

Montpelier 49 Pettisville 46

Montpelier was 7/14 from long range led by Thomas Jay who hit four treys in the first quarter to lead Montpelier (9-7, 6-4 in BBC) to a 49-46 win over the league leading Blackbirds. Jay finished with 12 points for the Locos who also got 12 points from Garrett Walz and Tylor Yahraus.


Walz and Yahraus combined to score 13 of Montpelier’s 17 points in the final quarter. Cayden Jacoby posted a double-double for Pettisville (13-5, 9-2) with 18 points, 15 rebounds and Max Leppelmeier added 13.

Edon 70 North Central 55

Edon dropped 26 points in the fourth quarter as they finished with their highest scoring output of the season. The game was the first game for the Bombers (8-8 8-3 in BBC) under interim head coach L.J. Walker, who also serves as Edon’s Athletic Director. Walker took over on Wednesday after the sudden resignation of first-year coach Dale Curry, who cited personal reasons for stepping down.


Edon, who was 31/45 at the foul line on the night, got 20 points from Jack Berry, Drew Gallehue had 18, and Cassius Hulbert added 11. Joey Burt posted 18 for North Central (4-14, 3-5) in the loss.

Stryker 53 Hilltop 17

Stryker’s defense was dominant as they held Hilltop to single digits in each quarter to roll to a 53-17 victory. Spencer Clingaman had 15 points to pace the Panthers (8-10, 6-4 in BBC) while Carson Jennings topped Hilltop (1-19, 0-12) with seven points.
