Metamora Village Council had heard from Scott Butterworth of Ohio Department of Natural Resources, at the March 1, 2021 meeting, where he requested that Metamora take on a watershed project.

During the March 15, 2021 council meeting, more discussion was held and it was determined to reject the requested proposal.

Mayor Richard Sauerlender mentioned that it had been rejected by the state and stated in a phone interview, “The village rejected it also as we feel it is a waste of money.”

“We feel it would not be a significant enough help to the village for that expense and all the work we would have to put into it.” A resolution was passed stating “The Village of Metamora will not purse the H2Ohio funding for the Watershed project.”

In other business, council voted to approve the minutes of the previous meeting and payment of the bills.

They were informed that more arbor vitae for the park have been ordered, and reviewed 2021/22 Insurance renewal information; Premium is $17 less than last year at $9,338. Mayor Sauerlender gave the Sheriff’s report.

Some discussion was held regarding the driving of unlicensed motorized vehicles, such as golf carts, in the village.
