The Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Monday May 9th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Council then moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting as well as the current meeting’s agenda.

The following agenda items were then discussed by council. Sunny’s Campground opened its doors on April 22nd. A salt order was submitted to ODOT with a request for 22 tons.

Mark Powers had previously submitted his resignation/retirement letter. For this reason, Kevin Whitlock from Wauseon was hired as the new Village Solicitor.

The ARS bulk pickup day will take place on October 1st. The Worthington Community Day is still set to take place on May 11th.

The work being done by the team will help with the covers for the dugouts on diamond two. The Evergreen Youth Association ball games begin on May 9th.

Kelly Overfield was hired as a part time assisting administrator. Preliminary information was sent to Derrick Merrins office for possible money regarding the next round of State Capital monies.

The village work truck has had the fuel pump replaced and new tires installed. Letters were sent out to businesses that need to have back flow inspections completed.

Tim Sutter has retired as the representative from First Energy, with Rob Langford taking his place.

A Memorial Day parade will not be taking place this year due to not having enough participants from numerous organizations. The hope is to be able to hold a parade next year.

Jarod Kurfiss was hired as a part time summer employee to do work in the garage. A new zoning employee was also hired to redo the work with Maumee Valley Planning regarding the updating of old books and to take care of new permits.

With no further business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned for the evening.
