The Evergreen Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, August 15th at 6:00 p.m. The minutes for the previous meeting held on July 18th were approved first, as well as the July 2022 financial reports.

Permanent appropriations for the fiscal year ending on June 30th, 2023, were approved next before moving to approve several personnel items.

Following the personnel items, the board moved to approve the following additional items. Amended the Limited Contract for Non-Teaching Employee with Melissa Nagy, accounts payable, to include EMIS/District Enrollment Coordinator responsibilities and increase the contracted days to 260 effective August 3, 2022.

Authorized the superintendent to enter into agreements with accredited colleges and universities with Educational Preparation Programs for the purpose of allowing the placement of Education Preparation Students in the district schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

Approved Nora Kiefer as the Evergreen Local Board of Education delegate and Don Smith as the Evergreen Local Board of Education alternate to the OSBA Annual Meeting at the OSBA Capital Conference on November 14, 2022.

Approved the Evergreen Local Board of Education to enter a Day Treatment-Purchase Service Agreement with A&G Education Services LLC, a special needs education company for the sole purpose of providing educational services in accordance with placement at the “Leap Program”. Student placements will be at a per diem rate of $145.00 per student.

Approved an overnight trip for Evergreen Ag students/FFA members, teacher Alexis Howell, and parent chaperones to travel to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana for workshops and educational leadership opportunities.

Students will depart on October 26, 2022 and return on October 28, 2022. Trip costs will be paid through student contributions and FFA Alumni.

Approved the Board of Education to support the educational option program administered by the Wood County Educational Service Center for the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio, and the Wood County Alternative School.

Administrators then gave updates including the income tax levy renewal. A presentation will be made at the September board meeting.

A full-time EHS counselor is still needed, and the district website has been updated to be more user friendly. With no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned for the evening.
