MILLCREEK WEST-UNITY SCHOOL BOARD: Board Approves Parking Plan For New Junior High Gymnasium

The Millcreek West Unity Board of Education held their meeting on Monday, September 19th. The meeting began at 6:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Superintendent then presented a Business Advisory Council update and also spoke to the board regarding two different options for bus parking at the new Junior High gymnasium facility.

The less expensive option was recommended with which the board agreed.

The Principal’s reports were given next by Mr. Riley and Mr. Mansfield. Following the reports, the following consent agenda items were approved by the board.

The minutes, financial statements and investments for August 2022. Adopted permanent appropriations by fund for FY23.


Approved the purchase of a 2023 30-passenger Blue Bird School Bus, a 2023 84-passenger Blue Bird School Bird, the sale of District Bus #5.

The purchases/sale will be made with Cardinal Bus through the META Cooperative. The cost for these vehicles will be offset by a grant through the State of Ohio.

An agreement for parent transportation for 2022-2023 school year. IRS mileage rate/mile: Brian Kuszmaul transporting Levi Kuszmaul.


Approved Hilltop students to participate in the following club activity for the 2022-2023 school year -Esports.

Accepted Federal Funding through the 599 9823 Safety Grant. Accepted several revenue increases as well as several personnel changes. A donation from the Alvordton United Brethren Church of school supplies.

A graduate study request from Dan Hurd – EDUC502-0 – Advanced Ed Psych – Defiance College/Fall for 3 semester hours. Approved an overnight stay for the National FFA Convention at the Indiana Convention Center in October and the Ohio State FFA Convention at the Ohio State Exposition Center and Fairgrounds in May of 2023.


A salary change was approved last for Eric Cooper and Jordan Rupp before the meeting was adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
