(January 29th, 2015) – WEST UNITY: North Central’s Junior Varsity girls made the short trip to West Unity, prepared to do battle with the well fortified Lady Cadets.

The Eagle invasion fell short of expectations, as Hilltop fended off their guests from Pioneer 32-13.

The first quarter was all Hilltop. They outscored the Lady Eagles 10-4. The Lady Eagles clawed their way back into the contest, however, claiming the second quarter with strong defense 6-2. Down just 12-10 going into the half, the Lady Eagles had to be feeling confident about their chances in the second half.

Then came the third quarter.

The Hilltop girls stepped onto the court coming out of halftime determined to take over the game. And that’s exactly what they did. Not only did the Cadet offense blossom, scoring 14 points, but their defense held North Central scoreless during that same span. The fourth quarter saw Hilltop take the period 8-3.

Aubrey Wyse and Johnnie Roth each put up 10 points for the Lady Cadets. Erin Ryan managed 7 points for North Central in the loss.
