Pettisville FFA Holds Chapter & Greenhand Ceremonies

On February 18 2023 Pettisville FFA held the Chapter and Greenhand Degree Ceremonies in the Theatre at Pettisville Schools.

There were 16 FFA members that earned their Greenhand Degree. There were 19 members that earned their Chapter Degree.

The requirements for the Greenhand Degree are:  be aware of the FFA Creed, understand the history of the FFA, participate in a community service project, actively participate in FFA activities, and have started an SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience project).


The requirements for the Chapter Degree are: to lead a group discussion, demonstrate five procedures of parliamentary law, earn and productively invest in an agricultural project, and actively participate in FFA activities.


GREENHAND DEGREE RECIPIENTS … Courtney Wiemken, Joey Ripke, Ava Genter, Kyle Galvin, Creighton Aeschliman, Brock Stump, Kelly Wyse, Samantha Minchella, Olivia Beck, Natalia Alencastro, and River Vajen.


The Farm Business Management Team placed 2nd in the district and 12th in state. The Farm Business Management CDE is to test the knowledge and skills of the economic principles in farm business management.


Students answered questions dealing with machinery management, farm business management futures, commodities, and taxes.

Top four members were: Caleb Priddy, Kelly Wyse, Luke Van Den Berghe and Leah Beck. Caleb Priddy placed 3rd individually in the district.

In the Greenhand Quiz contest the team placed 17th in State, and 2nd in the district.


Top four members were: Ava Genter, Courtney Wiemken, Olivia Beck and Gavin Sifuentes. Ava Genter was the top scorer in the chapter and placed 1st in the district.
