Archbold Ag. Students, under the direction of Mr. Ryan Sell, have been hard at work building a new shed for the Archbold Community Garden.

The primary class working on the shed is comprised of eight students, with other classes also putting in work to help.

Working to create a shed is something the class does every year, with the sheds normally going to members of the community who have expressed interest. For this school year’s shed project, the Archbold Community Garden expressed their interest.

Additionally, a grant became available this past summer called the Ohio FFA Chapter Success Grant, which was managed by the Ohio FFA Foundation To Support Community Initiatives.

An application was submitted for the grant, which Archbold Schools received. This grant ultimately covered the cost of materials for the shed and may even help cover the cost of putting up a fence where the shed is going.

The shed is 10×12 feet in size and will be large enough to store gardening tools and other items for the community garden.

Construction of the shed began early to mid-October and has been going on ever since. Currently, the project has at least another two weeks before it will be completed. At that point, the shed will be loaded on a trailer and transported to its new location.
