Students and staff at Four County Career Center were honored to attend the Veterans Day assembly to pay tribute to all of the men and woman who have so proudly served in our nation’s military.

Seventeen military veterans were honored at the assembly, including six staff members. Several of the veterans spoke to the students about their experiences while they served in the military and demonstrated the proper folding of the U.S. flag at a funeral service for a military veteran. Career Center staff veterans include James Fox, US Navy; Matthew Geiger, US Army; Darrell Miller, US Air Force; Bill Parsley, US Air Force; Robert Williams, US Army; and Ray Varner, US Marines.

Shown above during the assembly are veterans (LEFT TO RIGHT) Robert Hildebrandt, Korean War US Navy Sea Bee; Bill Stewart, US Marine; Kevin Motter, Williams County Veterans Service Commissioner; Matthew Dodd, Chaplain/First Baptist Church Youth Pastor; Vernon Sloan, WWII US Army Pacific 6th Infantry Division; Steve Schlosser, Stryker Chief of Police/Panama & Iraq US Marine; Tonya Fisher, Career Center Fire & Rescue instructor; Dale Stevens, WWII Prisoner of War; Don Carroll, Vietnam US Navy/Finance Officer of the Stryker American Legion, Post 60; Mary Oliver, Director of the Williams County Veterans Service Organization; Theresa McColl, Stryker Legion, Post 60 Auxiliary Leader; and Rick Wityk, Vietnam US Air Force/Commander of the Stryker American Legion, Post 60 and retired Career Center Carpentry instructor.
