In various languages, it has been used by millions of Scouts worldwide since 1907. The Scout Motto is: BE PREPARED which means you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your DUTY.

Unfortunately, some communities in parts of North Carolina were unprepared for Hurricane Helene’s devastating effects and aftermath.

Troop 29G jumped at the opportunity to help. The troop collected donated cleaning supplies to fill buckets of supplies such as gloves, clothes pins, trash bags, dish soap, and laundry detergent for the clean-up efforts in North Carolina.

Troop 29G took it one step further by personally delivering the buckets. Troop leaders Sandy Wood, her granddaughters Olive and Ruby Gruver, and her husband Neal made the journey this past weekend to North Carolina with the filled buckets in tow.

They also had help from an organization called Red Truck Men. The Red Truck Men help other men in their communities by offering support and fellowship through Bible studies and prayer breakfasts.

Sandy is also a leader for Girl Scout Troop 10487 and the scouts are currently holding their annual coat drive.

New and gently used coats, hats, scarves, and mittens can be dropped off in bins at the Edgerton Methodist Church.
