GRANT AWARDED … At the Power in the Purse (PIP) fourth-quarter and last meeting of 2024, the women’s giving circle, affiliated with the Bryan Area Foundation, awarded $6,775 to Compassion Medical Clinic to help purchase medicine for those in need. Opened in 2007, the clinic assists those without insurance or with a deductible higher than $2,500 to receive non-emergency care. Operating primarily on donations with only one employee and an all-volunteer medical staff, they are open only one day a week at the First Church of Christ.
