The Williams County Agricultural Society convened for its regular board meeting on Thursday, June 19, at 7:00 p.m.

Ten directors and two auxiliary directors were present, including President Pam Goll, Vice President Tom Fry, and Secretary Scott Carroll. Goll led the evening’s proceedings, beginning with a call to order and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The board quickly moved through routine approvals, unanimously passing the minutes from the May 2025 regular meeting and the May Treasurer’s Report.

Beef Barn maintenance has been underway, with plans set to replace the bottom boards along the building. New lights and fans are being considered for a potential purchase.

Goll noted that she has been in close contact with Williams County Commissioner Scott Lirot, who is in the process of providing labor.

Lirot is currently working on helping kids fill their community service requirements, with the Beef Barn maintenance providing a perfect opportunity.

President Goll reported that she is in the process of finalizing the 2025 Fair Book and hopes to be set for print by July.

She reminded several members that two seats are opening up this year on the fair board and encouraged current members and the community to apply.

The Fair Foundation requested a project list from the Williams County Fairgrounds. Quotes on updated roofing for several bathrooms around the fair stands are to take place, with hopes that the Foundation will fund a new, green metal roof.

A double gate is being added to the covered bridge on the outside of the grounds. This is to enhance security and provide a more closed-off venue for scheduled events.

Goll also stated that the livestock tagging event was successful, with large amounts of tags still left over. She noted that the Goat Show is officially scheduled for July 5. The Auto Expo Derby was also reported as a profitable success.

The current fair event schedule remains unchanged, with dates set as follows:

– Sunday: Rodeo
– Monday: Band Show
– Tuesday: Blues Brother Concert
– Wednesday: Harness Racing / Julia Neville Concert
– Thursday: Youth Night
– Friday: Derby
– Saturday: KOI

New business centered around preliminary planning for the 2026 fair. Board members approved the 2026 entertainment agenda and officially set the 2026 fair dates for the week of September 12 – 19, which falls one week after Labor Day. The meeting adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
